on saturday 27 october 2012 we were busy at sondela nature reserve in the event of  bicycle race , i was at water point helping all the people who were in the bicycle race, i was giving them water to drink and the ernegy drink, it was a fun job that i enjoyed because i have experience lot of things when working in the event, you have to take care of all the guest and make sure they have fun.


yesterday we were busy building a boma for rhino which is at sondela in wild life centre, it was very fun because i have learned how to do it , we had to take the big poles and put them were we were busy building the boma, then dig the holes and put the poles one by one into the holes.

my first day in resource guardianship

the facilitators introduced themself to us, then after we went with carl to the bsh were he was showing us or teaching us  about the borehole which we have in sondela, we have 9 boreholes in sondela nature reserve, we were using the insulation tester  and a wire rope that was thrown into the bore hole to measre how much of water is still in the bore hole, it was a great experience because we went into different types of boreholes in sondela. on wednesday we went to do gardening were they taught us how to use a rake and a spade, we were takin out all the weeds that were at the strawberry plants, after we finished with the strawberry site then we were planting the vegetables like cabbage,beans and spinach, it was very fun because we  were working as a team while we busy preparing the veges to be planted the boys were digging up for us were we should plant and everything was going great even if others were not partipating like others meaning they didnt want to work . on thursday i was in class the whole they taught us about fire , the colour of the fire and how you will know if that fire is dangerous or not that dangerous, then we learned about thedifferent type of maps then after we were busy with our workbook,on friday we were in the bush racking all the bycycle road, taking all the branches that was on the road of bicycle race to the other site.

when preparing the food the is  medication as well as probiotics that can be added to food like Ivomac-de wormer its used for de-worming with the animals, we use bio-rem (pro-biotic) only used for herbivores,protexin (pro-biotec)which is used for carnivores and herbivores. i have learned about the process of  following the good procedures with old food, it must go into separate waste bin, some fruits we throw them at the platform if its still in a good conditions for the animal like nyala and impalas and if not it have to be decomposed   or goes to the dumping site with other waste and for meat we take it to the vulter resturant if it doesnt have medication into their body and if it does we burn the meat, what we call combutioin

in species care i have learned about how to use a scale were you should scale type of meat and powder milk,it depend on the type of animal like age the age,size and wether the animal is sick or not,  plant need a space to grow, the light , temperature,air,water,the time and most of all the nurients. The three type of toxic plants found in sondela its inkbessie,gifblaar and milkweed. Defining softwood,hardwood cuttings: softwood-can be used to propagatea wide a range of  mainly decideous shrubs and some trees in early spring,2 hardwaood cutting: provide an easy and reliable method of progating a range of decideous climbers,trees and shrubs and as a bonus,they are taken from  mid_autumn late winter when more time is usualy available to the gardener.

we went to Mabalingwe lodge were they picked us at location at 4:15 because they said we should be at Mabalingwe 5:00. by the time we were at Maabalingwe  there was this other  place wich was beuatiful, they decorated everything with the old  stuff, there was  a bar wich was made of of an old sink, inside the bar there was a table wich was made of  by an old car wich is Land rover , the seat was made of congregated sink, the couch was made of thy seat of the car and was decorated with the lamb.. it was beautifull'

we went outside and be busy with the cycling people, we wer  busy promoting the Sondela cycling race, we gave them water, cold drink, bannas and ernegy drink then after they wer thanking us for helpig and supporting them

this week we took pictures at ssb laudry,store room and maintenance workshop.. we learned about safety and security in work place.. we learned about how to use a telephone,what are the rules of  using it, we learned about customer  services and what you should do or behave to a customer..

this week   at SSB  i have learned how to sweep the floor.how to make a bed, washed windows,mopping , cleaning toilet, bath and shower, washing dishes it was great experience and i really enjoy it..

i had great time today we learned about a fire fighter basics, the type of fires, the rules of whether to stop  the fire or not, and when is the right time to start the fire.

we also learned about Microsoft 2003 power point with Linda.. and it was ayoba  (great).. Tannie Yvonne  showed us how to make a pie chart and bar graph.

i went to wildlife center where i saw beautiful or cute animal, it was great........ there was this other zebra her name is dot..i like the cute lions especially the male one...mwah like to be there again
